AMAZON ADVENTURE 2025
CLASSIC CAR ENDURO RALLY
3RD TO 25TH OCTOBER, 2025
JOURNEY TO THE WILDS OF THE AMAZON
Our unique Amazon Adventure returns in October 2025 with a new and exciting route that includes Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil and Guyana. The heart of the route runs through Brazil and we include Manaus to the itinerary as it is seldom visited these days despite its historical significance.
The rally starts from Paramaribo, the capital city of Suriname, previously Dutch Guiana. Here you will be amazed to find they drive on the left as in the UK.
We go inland for a night to experience the jungle before crossing into French Guiana, home to the European Space Agency launch site.
Depending on the launch programme we will visit the Space Agency In Kourou for a tour of the facilities.
Our route takes us through French Guiana, which is a little piece of France in South America as it’s one of their Overseas territories. We drive south, crossing the border into Brazil at Oiapoque where a new bridge has been built to replace a river barge crossing.
Heading south we hit the Amazon River at Macapa where we cross the equator and then join a ferry for a couple of nights to Santarem. The ferry is a highlight of the tour providing a great insight into the lives of the people living along this great river. We stop at numerous ports along the journey and enjoy the river life.

Arriving at Santarem we disembark and restart our road adventure along a tributary of the Amazon, the Tapajos. While some of the road has been upgraded in recent years there is plenty of dirt for the next 2000 kilometres as we head for Manaus in the centre of Brazil via Itaituba, Jacareacanga, Apui, Humaita,
and Tupana.
In Tupana we spend two nights in a jungle lodge before heading to Manaus where we have a day off to tend to the cars.
From Manaus we head north to Boa Vista, then the Guyanan border. Once over we stay in Iwokrama River Lodge before heading into the capital, Georgetown and then finally back to Paramaribo in Suriname.
It’s a real adventure offering a true insight into life in the Amazon.

We suggest you take a well prepared classic car or a 4×4 of any age on this adventure. All roads have been recced and the route is completely open. However, in the Amazonas region many roads are graded rather than tarmac – this can vary from very slow and rough to fast and flowing dirt.
ACCOMMODATION
Each night you will have a hotel room with en-suite, while on the ferry there are excellent cabins available. Breakfast is included each day, so are most of the evening meals.
BACK UP
We aim to keep man and machine together so provide mechanical back-up as well as a medic for those little ailments.
CLIMATE
It goes without saying that although we are going at the best time of year, it is still a hot and sticky environment in the forest where it rains from time to time.

TESTIMONIAL
“The GP of South America was a great event and John and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. It is always good to be the first to try something that no one else has done for a long time, in this case 70 years. Your team were fantastic and that made it even more enjoyable . The roads were challenging as they should be and the scenery spectacular. The hotels were good quality and the food was very good. This is an event for anyone who wants an adventure and I would whole heartedly rec- ommend it; if you want to do something a bit different, exciting and a bit of a challenge, then the GP of South America is for you. Thanks John and team for putting together such a great event.”
