THE PYRENEES 1000 RALLY
4 DAY CLASSIC CAR COMPETITION EVENT

The Pyrenees 1000 is a competitive event through the Pyrenees mountain range, as its name suggests, and takes advantage of some great roads and passes that are seldom used. This, the second Pyrenees 1000, moves headquarters from Spain to France, with the rally HQ located in Pau this year.
A four day 1,000km drive through some of the most stunning mountain scenery in Europe, it is ideal for all levels of experience – it is also a great way to shake down a car for longer events.
The format has been developed to include a loop on the first day from Pau to Pau, exploring the western end of the Pyrenees. The following day we drive from Pau to Viella in Spain. The final day returns to Pau. The rally now also starts and finishes a day earlier than previously, giving participants time to return home on the Sunday. By using the same hotel for the start and finish, trailers can be left in a secure location.
With emphasis on fun, the competition will be on quiet minor roads. Navigation is by tulip roadbook and the competition is regularity. There is no night driving scheduled and the vast majority of the route is on tarmac, although we do look for the occasional gravel road. If you want to join the rally but don’t want the competition, we have a Touring class as well.
THE SCHEDULE
Participants arrive on Wednesday, May 8th for scrutineering and paperwork. Late arrivals can scrutineer the next morning before the start. The rally gets underway on Thursday and finishes on Saturday evening.
With daylight hours extending at this time of year there is no night driving envisaged. There will be stops for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea where possible. Accommodation is included for four nights and four evening meals.
