WHITE NIGHTS 2027

CLASSIC CAR TOURING RALLY

June 19th to July 7th, 2027

19

Bespoke Rallies’ White Nights rally is a unique Nordic adventure chasing the midnight sun through the beautiful, majestic landscapes of Scandinavia. Over 19 memorable days we find the most iconic and stunning roads of Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. On this rally you experience the height of summer from the top of the world.

We start in Copenhagen and cross into Sweden with its quiet roads and vast evergreen forests. Travelling north we cross into Lapland, home of the Samis and their nomadic reindeer herds, before crossing the Arctic Circle and into Finland. Our last stop on the northern journey is Kirkenes, the most northerly port in Norway, and only a few miles short of the Russian border. On arrival we will take a river boat to the border and enjoy a King Crab feast. It’s a strange quirk of geography that this Norwegian town lies further to the east than both Istanbul and St Petersburg!

In the town’s historic harbour we board the luxurious Hurtigruten cruise liner MS Nordnorge before setting sail around the coastline of the North Cape and down the west coast of Norway. Our first stop will be to see the North Cape, the most northerly point of Europe accessible by road.

Our six-day long cruise through the clear waters of the Arctic Ocean provides an experience unlike that of any other classic rally, taking in Fjords, glaciers and spellbinding sights. Uniquely, each morning we disembark from the ship and chase the Nordnorge down the coast to rejoin our floating hotel in the evenings.
We finally disembark at Floro and follow some of the most stunning roads of Norway to Hemsedal, before taking the scenic roads into Oslo the following day.
A truly unforgettable journey.

How Does the ship work?

Simply put, we spend the nights on board ship and the days chasing it down the coast on the empty roads of the north. Each morning we disembark with the cars and follow the tulip route down the coast to the point of embarkation. All these routes have been carefully researched and driven to ensure you don’t miss your floating hotel.

Day 1 Arrive Copenhagen
Our journey begins in the historic town of Copenhagen, one of Denmark’s oldest cities and its capital since 1443. Originally a fishing village in the 10th century it grew quickly during the 16th century, to serve as the de facto capital of the Kalmar Union and the seat of the Union’s monarchy, which governed most of the modern-day Nordic region as part of a Danish confederation with Sweden and Norway

Day 2 Relax in Copenhagen
We will be staying in the heart of the City close to the fabled Tivoli Gardens and Opera House which are a must to visit.

Day 3 COPENHAGEN TO JONKOPING
Setting off under the starter’s flag we head for the famous Øresund crossing, its 2.5miles of tunnel giving way to a 5 mile bridge section that brings us onto the Swedish mainland. Our route takes us through the province of Småland, across a rolling plateau of woods and marshland to the city of Jonkoping famed for being the matchstick capital of the world. We stay overnight at the Elite Stora Hotellet.

Day 4 JONKOPING TO STOCKHOLM
Head northeast out of Jönköping our road climbs away from Lake Vättern into the Småland highlands across the Östergötland plain. From here the landscape opens up noticeably — flatter, more agricultural. We go via Linköping, home to the famous cathedral and Saab’s heritage. Nyköping is a historic town with a medieval castle ruin right in the centre — it’s a natural break point roughly two thirds along our route. We finish the day at Hotel Skeppsholmen which sits at the heart of its own island, surrounded by water on three sides with views back towards the Royal Palace.

DAY 5 STOCKHOLM REST DAY
Hotel Skeppsholmen is a great location to explore
beautiful Stockholm.

Day 6 Vasteras to Mora
Our route takes in three distinct landscapes today — the open, ancient farming plains of Uppland; the forested ironworks country of Västmanland; and the lake-and-hill heartland of Dalarna and finishing on one of the most beautiful lakeshores in Scandinavia.

Once clear of Stockholm’s orbit, the countryside opens into classic Uppland: an ancient, gently undulating agricultural landscape that has been farmed since the Bronze Age. We end the day in Mora on the shores of lake Siljan, home of two celebrated hand crafted industries making iconic Dala wooden Horses and handcrafted Mora knives. Overnight accommodation is provided at the historic 4-star Mora Hotell and Spa, in the centre of the old town.

Day 7 Mora to Ostersund
Today’s route meanders further northwards, through vast fairytale forests and across babbling brooks, with wildflowers and berries growing along the roadsides. We stop and recharge our batteries at Ostersund at the very heart of the country, a picture postcard Swedish town with cobbled streets and neo-gothic and neo-romantic architecture. Our accommodation is at the Clarion Grand Hotel.

Day 8 Ostersund to Lycksele
From Ostersund we head into Swedish Lapland, and surely there is nowhere else in continental Europe with such vast, unspoiled landscapes. Its mountains, forests and marshes are criss-crossed by countless waterways and provide a backdrop to the annual reindeer migration – the chance of spotting one, or even a moose, are pretty high. Today we experience a Swedish BBQ for lunch. We will stay overnight in Lycksele, the oldest continuous settlement of Scandinavia’s indigenous nomadic Sámi people.

Day 9 Lycksele to Lulea
As we head deeper into Swedish Lapland, the terrain becomes increasingly dramatic and mountainous. Our destination is Lulea, home of the Swedish Air Force and strategically right on the Baltic Sea coast. By now we will be experiencing the White Nights when the sun does not set. So make sure to pack your eye-masks!

Day 10 Lulea to Levi
Today is a day of significant crossings. Setting off eastwards we pass through great swathes of pine, spruce and fir, and pass unnoticed across the critical line of latitude – 66°34′N North – that marks our entry to the Arctic circle. A few miles further on, through the rolling fells, we cross the border into Finland. In winter this part of Lapland experiences temperatures as low as -30°C but thankfully in the summer months – in part due to the constant sun – it’s normally above 15°C.

Day 11 Levi to Kirkenes
The route takes us into the quiet village of Inari, Lapland’s de facto capital and the location of the ancient Sámi holy site on the island of Ukonkivi.

Our destination is Kirkenes, the most northerly port in mainland Norway, where it remains daylight here more than two months each year. Less than five kilometres from the Russian border, this is a place where East meets West, in culture as well as in nature and geography. We take a river boat King Crab tour to experience the world’s finest King Crab fresh from the sea right on the Russian border.

Day 12 – 17 Hurtigruten Cruise
For the next six days we leave dry land behind as we board the Hurtigruten ship for a cruise along the Norwegian coast, exploring glaciers, fjords, and majestic islands – an experience unique to any classic rally. Relax into a new regime where you don’t need to pack and unpack your bags every day and the navigation by night is left to the captain and his crew.

The cruise charts a course around the stark, barren landscape of the North Cape, before hugging the western

coast and heading south. Our first excursion off the ship is to visit Nordcapp – the most accessible northerly and easterly point on mainland Europe! Its early off then a good drive to rejoin the ship at Skjervoy.

Sailing past the world-famous islands of Lofoten and Vesterålen we will head on between peaks rising 1,000m out of the sea before exploring the wooden city of Trondheim. At Kristiansund you can join an excursion along the Atlantic Road, ranked by the Norwegian Tourist board as the world´s best road trip, spanning eight bridges and surrounded by open sea.

Day 18
We leave the ship at Floro and make our way to Hemsedal over the great mountain roads of southern Norway.

Day 19
On our final day we make our way south eastwards across country to the capital city of Oslo and a stay at the Somerro, one of Norway’s newest luxury hotel. After checking in and taking some well-earned time out, we will gather for a celebratory dinner in its restaurant, famed for its delicious Nordic dining.

TESTIMONIAL

“The GP of South America was a great event and John and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. It is always good to be the first to try something that no one else has done for a long time, in this case 70 years. Your team were fantastic and that made it even more enjoyable . The roads were challenging as they should be and the scenery spectacular. The hotels were good quality and the food was very good. This is an event for anyone who wants an adventure and I would whole heartedly rec- ommend it; if you want to do something a bit different, exciting and a bit of a challenge, then the GP of South America is for you. Thanks John and team for putting together such a great event.”
